Where the Red Fern Grows

Classic children's books are some of my favorite to read. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls is the epitome of classic children's literature!

I read it a few years ago, so my memory is a wee bit foggy, but I do remember how much I loved it in the moment, how good it was and how interested I was in the story and characters.

We follow a young boy, Billy, who has worked hard to save enough money to get two dogs for himself. Old Dan and Little Ann become Billy's best friends and together the three of them go on adventures all over the hills of the Ozark Mountains. They meet new people, make new friends and run into some tight spots along the way.

I have a young tutoring client that has read this over and over again and absolutely loves this story. When my mom found out that I was reading it she started gushing about how much she loved reading it when she was younger.

I can't stress enough how adorable, beautiful and heartwarming this book is to all who reads it. Get tissues ready as the ending will wreck you! Fair warning!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Now, go and READ!
