One day, while perusing the shelves of the library, I ran across Arlo Finch and the Valley of Fire by John August. I had never heard of this series or this author. I read the synopsis and it caught my interest, so I decided, what the heck, I'll try it. AND IT WAS SO STINKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!
If I could write this post in all caps without it becoming obnoxious, I would because it was that amazing! Seriously. So good. Hit the link below and read it for yourself. 😁
Arlo Finch, along with his sister and mother, have just moved to Pine Mountain, Colorado to live with his uncle. At school, he meets two new friends, Indra and Wu. They are members of the local Ranger group and they invite Arlo to join. This isn't just a normal Ranger group. Soon, Arlo realizes that he can see things seeping in from the magical world that surround Pine Mountain and not everything is friendly. He must learn to hone his Ranger skills and trust in his new squad to fight these magical creatures. And maybe, they can help Arlo save the girl that keeps visiting him from the other realm before she disappears completely.
Have I mentioned before that I LOVED THIS BOOK?? Cause I did. Like a lot. I grew up with my father and brother who were huge scouters so reading this brought back a lot of memories about their experiences. I loved the characters. I loved the magical elements. I loved the teamwork. I loved the slight mystery elements. I just loved it all.
This is the first in a series (a trilogy I think) and I can't wait to continue with the next books ASAP!
When you read this I hope you will like it as much as I did! Let me know what you think and share with your friends.
Now, go and READ!
