Evan, Jessie and their mom have a yearly tradition to visit Grandma around New years Eve and ring the bell that is by her house. They look forward to this experience each year! However, Grandma is acting funny. She doesn't seem to remember that Jessie and Evan are her grandkids. After a fire breaks out at Grandma's home, the Treski family is scared that their New Years Eve tradition is going to be ruined. Jessie won't stand for that, so she heads up the trail to find the bell and make sure everything is ready. When she gets there THE BELL IS GONE. Who would steal a bell? Jessie and Evan enlist some local help to find the bell bandit and return the bell to it's rightful place all before the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve.
This book focuses on maps and how to set up different diagrams to see an area. Throughout the book, there are adorable pictures to show readers what they are reading about. I love this visual addition.
I also liked this third book because it shows Evan softer side. While Jessie is focusing on the bell bandit, Evan is focusing on Grandma. He knows he can help her remember her life, their family but mostly he wants to be remembered by his Grandma!
